			RICHARD MILLER

			OBJECTIVE I am currently seeking a full time position in the graphic design field. I have spent the last two years freelancing and working on a variety of projects, designing almost everything from websites to T-shirts to business cards and other print materials. I also have been producing custom fonts through my own company, Miller Type Foundry. Starting my own company challenged me and taught me how to do anything a design business needs including: branding, web design, marketing my products, public relations/communicating with customers and vendors, billing, and even social networking.

			WORK EXPERIENCE Miller Type Foundry Owner/Designer, June 2009 - Present My primary duty is creating new typefaces and completing those ideas. I also designed, built and maintain the website (www.millertype.com) using Adobe Dreamweaver and some CSS. I created a strong visual brand and implemented it for promotional materials such as business cards and postcards. I also correspond with font re sellers, print production vendors, magazine advertisers and my type customers, (both in the US and around the world) using e-mail, phone and also in person. In addition I have been using social networking platforms such as twitter, behance and dribbble to promote the Miller Type Foundry Freelance Designer 2009 - Present I have designed various projects including websites, logos, branding, T-shirts, business cards, letterhead and illustrations. I also meet with clients and help them bring their ideas/vision into reality. Kem Studio Collaborative Design Project Participant, Jan 2009 I was selected as one of the top students in my class to participate in a collaborative design project. I worked with top students from the Architecture, Industrial Design, Interior Design and Landscape design schools to design a mobile coffee house. Visual Design Studio 4 Design Intern, Fall 2008 - Spring 2009 I designed book layouts, information forms, posters and other print projects. Eye Design & Marketing Inc Design Intern, Summer 2008 I designed print promotional materials for real estate clients, helped with web designs, illustrat MasterPrint Pre-press Operator, Summer 2007 I took files from the designer and prepared them for printing. This internship was an invaluable resource that taught me the whole print production process from InDesign to the final product
